This article reports on the findings of the study ‘Occupational outlets for middle-level training’ by Paul Mills and Janine Cesnich (see TD/TNC 31.28), which was a detailed look at the job prospects of middle-level TAFE trainees. The author asks the question whether the home of middle-level training should continue to be TAFE, or whether TAFE should concentrate on entry-level training, with a new sector formed to deal with the middle level.
